press release? it is only available from Apple website when they officially releases new item so that we can know it. how the hell bestbuy manager knows the secrect of new ipod release time? I don't believe it. Apple never does it. as you know, company is very secrective for upcoming product traditionally. when it would be leak, some employees get fired.
however obvious fact is that new video ipod is coming anyway. if we are lucky, we will see before Xmas. but I doubt it. I think that Apple's just done for holiday season with new ipod line. that's all. I guess that new video ipod other products will have chances for next macworld 2007.

It has been my experience that people that work at BestBuy know very little, managers too.
It has been my experience that people that work at BestBuy know very, very, very little about Apple products.
This is even true after they are released.
But this BestBuy could be different.
Yes, if this is true, I suppose everyone will owe you an apology. Until then I don't believe it.

Yeah, well the manage for the gas station I go to said he got a heads up from Apple about new Mac Tablets.
Available this holiday season at Shell stations everywhere.
And my uncle who works at Dell said Apple is going to allow Dell to sell Dell PCs with Mac OS X installed.
And my cousins friends Dad who works for AMD says Apple is dumping Intel and are going to go with AMD instead.
You'll see this on the main page in a couple of minutes.

Sometimes I am in BestBuy and I over hear things that I dare not repeat...
And see things I dare not...ok...I have to let this one out...I was there the other day by the Geek Squad desk and they were working on a guys Dell desktop and the screen saver came on, it was...uh...something you shouldn't see in a BestBuy
...a guy accross the store started yelling at them to trun it off. It looks like the Dell had a porn virus, I can see why it was in for repairs
I talked to this bag lady and she told me that a new Apple Tablet would be released in the year 2029, she also told me she could talk to fish.

Mabey this guy is lying. Mabey not. Personaly I don't care about that. But if you go and watch Steve Jobs introduce the new iPods he says I hope this gives you a preveiw of our holiday lineup. (This is not an exact quote, but it is the basic idea of what he said.) This makes me belive that we may just have a true iPod video before the holidays.

I kind of looked at the new pricing as way to avert a riot over not releasing the Video iPod right away. 80GB, brighter, longer battery life for $50 less than the 60GB. I know a handful of people that bought an 80GB right away. Couldn't wait any longer.
As many on the board have pointed out Apple will not even hint at the wide screen model or it will kill the sales of the current iPod. Even the movies are in Full Screen aspect ratio (Which I swore off buying about three years ago.)
If an iPod were on the way that could handle it I would have expected that there would be a widescreen option and a way to output it to some type of display.
As for me I'm just gonna keep waiting. My mind keeps going in circles in the mean time... {a: I could just get a Nano $149... b: Will that be enough room? No... c: next size up $199... d: well for $50 more 8GB... e: wait, the 30GB iPod is the same price... f: If I'm going an iPod might as well get the 80GB... g: isn't there a new VIDEO iPod coming... Why would he lie? To get you all excited and to look cool.
He was lying to you. Apple never tells anyone at that level, not even a day before the official announcement, much less two months.
I agree that the Video iPod will come out before Thanksgiving. The OP didn't sway my statement one bit.
