Oh, yeah...I've got about 15-20 of them (most of them on CD, too).

There's probably about 20 more on that list that I wish I had.

Nothing wrong with love songs, as long it's not from boy bands.

ps. Shiny Happy People is an awesome song!

i have an awful lot of those on my ipod and hidden in CD collections.

dont have the country ones or some of the more modern ones but if its from the 80's or 90's, i will have to put my hand up to own up...

and just what is wrong with Shiny Happy People? Not the best song but nothing to be ashamed of.
Unlike some of the songs in the Guilty Pleasures lists on ITMS...

I have eleven of them...I will now hang my head in shame :o

I'm surprised Paul McCartney only made the list twice. "Yesterday" is pretty wussy. And "Pipes Of Peace" is really craptacular.

EDIT:This link (http://music.aol.com/blender/wussiest-artists-ever-robert-smith) is pretty good, too...

Wow. Dan Fogelberg was robbed! "Longer" is, without a doubt, the wussiest song ever committed to magnetic tape.

I stopped reading the list at the fourth song, #108. Anyone who would put Eric Clapton on a "wuss" list needs to be beaten, severely.

Mandy, by Barry Manilow is NOT a wussy song! HE WAS IN LOVE!

*quietly coos*
oh, don't worry Barry... soon, everyone will appreciate your manly, non-wuss-like love for Mandy.

I agree with a lot of those, though.

How is "Crash Into Me" by Dave Matthews is a "wussy" song? He's talking about how he likes f***ing girls, and wants them to hike up their skirts. The guy at AOL who put that song on the list is a wuss.

And how did Boyz 2 Men, Goo Goo Dolls, and MatchBox 20 not flood that list? They're softer than horse poo and they only have like 2 songs on the list between them. Same with Celine Dion.

I have 3 songs from that list. :) I have:

"Crash Into Me" by the Dave Matthews Band (not that wuss)
Fix You by Coldplay (I know, I know)
"To Be With You" by Mr Big (fantastic song) :D

what annoys me about things like this is that love songs aren't neccissarily 'wussy' and how would you define 'wussy' either depends on the person. but this is AOL what do you expect.

The cutsiness of the song is explained by the fact that it was written about Ripperton's young daughter (trivia answer: Maya Rudolph, currently of SNL).

I'm also wondering how any songs sung by females were allowed on the list. Not too often you hear a woman called a "wussy"; they're generally allowed a much wider range of expression in music. I guess they're really wussy if you're a guy and you like the song. :p

I'm surprised Paul McCartney only made the list twice. "Yesterday" is pretty wussy. And "Pipes Of Peace" is really craptacular. They state at the end that there is only one song per artist (PM probably got one credit as himself and one as a Beatle?). I thought that might be the case when I found only a single Air Supply ballad.

I have one fracking song from that list in my iTunes collection... #64 'I Just Called To Say I Love You' Stevie Wonder.

And it is not even from my CD collection. It was from my roommates collection . There are others coldplay, the beattles, paul mccartney and others that are floating on CDs from my dads stash. Thankfully we have filtered out many others after my mother died.

She does sing 'Maya, Maya, Maya...' at the end of the song though...

WTH is wrong with Your Body Is A Wonderland and Crash Into Me? Yes, they are quiet, but why are they wussy? I agree with most of the stuff, but putting these two songs on that list, could only be done by a know-it-all metallica freak, music-n00b with IQ of 23 freak.

Dave Matthews Band and John Mayer are some of the most cleverest musicians in the world, and quiet songs may not be the taste of said metallica freaks, yet these are geniously written, and should in no way be considered wussy. Having a meaning doesn't make a song wussy.

I understand that many people which I call *pop-tosser*, are fascinated by music that simply just sounds like something I wouldn't shove up Kerry's nose, if you know the slightest thing about music, you will discover that people like i.e. John Mayer and Dave Matthews are amongst the most clever musicinas in the world, and make the most geniously composed and cool music available.

I don't really get the point of putting down songs like these. Right next to them on their albums, are songs such as Neon and Too Much, which no one in their right mind will out down (except pop-tosser).

'nuff said. around 2% of this list is bullpoo.:D

I have five of them, but find it wierd that "With Arms wide open" by Creed, was on the list... That song isnt wussy. Sure, it's about a grown man singing about his kid.. his first born kid. and besides you really have to hear the song a couple times to really comprehend what he is talking about.

"What hurts the most" by Rascal Flatts is not one of my favorites, but I still have it. and the lead singer may have a really high voice register, but he puts that to his advantage and thats why thousands of people listen to the band.

I'm not going to give a description of the other 3 songs I have, but they are:
"Don't Cry"-Guns N' Roses
"Don't take the girl"-Tim McGraw
"I Want It That Way"-Backstreet Boys

Of course, these are my opinions. I'm sure people are going to disagree with me. But what the hell, disagreeing with people is one of my favorite pastimes:D

Mandy-Barry Manilow
Our House-Crosbys, Stills and Nash
Bad Day- Daniel Powter
When I'm 64-Beatles

'You're Beautiful'-James Blunt

All in my iTunes...and I stand by them all!

There's actually only one single song on that list I like, and that's Tupac's Dear Mama. But I don't like it much. And it's the only one I have.

'You're Beautiful'-James Blunt

I didn't make an exact tally of my own "wussy" collection, but it's probably 6 or 7 songs.

Mandy, by Barry Manilow is NOT a wussy song!
Well, it is the favorite of a 250 year old vampire (http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/articles/content/a2709/index-8.html). Though I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I own a lot of these (not even going count how many), but then I have a really extensive music collection and you never know what kind of mood you're going to be in. Plus I need to listen to them so I can do them justice when I sing to them at karaoke. Usually drunkenly and badly, but still.

Besides, it's just an arbitrary list by a bunch of computer geeks, so take that as you will.

jdechko
Sep 27, 2006, 10:19 AM
I have a few of them.

The thing is, I really don't care about what songs the writers at AOL say are "Wussy". I like the music that I like and no one else's opinion will make me dislike a song. I might listen to someones song recommendations, but I won't stop listening because someone else doesn't like it (unless it's my wife and we're in the car).
