Hey all, just wondering which size model of the mbp you will be getting. The thing that sucks is that there are no specs. produced by apple on future models. The only thing that we can go by is speculation and we all know that is all but speculation. If they will make a 15 with the fw800 and upgraded video to 256mb minimum that would be great.

I'll make my mind up when the Santa Rosa Merom model is released.

Neither. I will be getting a MB but if i could, the 15" because the 17" is too big.

I'll probably be getting the 15" so long as it's released before mid-November.

17 - I regularly have to spend an entire programming on my laptop with no access to an external screen and the extra screen real estate is vital. Just a shame they arent WUXGA (1920x1200) like my vaio is - going to be a real shame to lose those extra pixels.

I will be getting the 15 inch I thought about the 17 inch but the size is to big for me to be hauling around with all my equipment.

I'm going to get the 15", partially because I will barely be able to afford the 15" let alone the 17", and partially because I travel with my notebook 6 days a week and the extra pounds will kill my shoulder after a while.

Going for a third option... I'm waiting (probably in vain) for a 12inch. If they brought down the weight of the 15 maybe, but I doubt they can drop another pound off of it.

17, because the benefits far outweigh the minor gains in weight, size and price.

### I'm cooling on the idea of getting an Apple laptop, but...if I do..it will definitely be a Santa Rosa-17"...cuz Apple significantly UNDERclocks the gpu on the 15".

I doubt they will make one, cause when apple released the macbook they said it was replacing the 12 inch powerbook as well as both ibooks. so I wouldn't count on it.

might get a 15in "if" it has FW800. thats a major thing for me. I don't want to have to buy a PC card for it either. otherwise I'll just stick to the new Macbook. my current one is great.

Maybe Apple is holding back the release because they are going to wow us with a 11" widescreen beauty. If that comes out I will buy it in an instant, even if it comes with some cheesy 1.1Ghz dual core processor.

I think I might go for a 17" MBP. I like the 3 USB ports and a Firewire 800 port on the 17" model. I think it would be nice to have an option to use the notebook computer alone on the road for graphics works especially when I don't have an access to an ACD. Also, the size difference between 15" and 17" models are not that big anyway.
