I searched for some bootcamp info on google about dualbooting an intel mac with OSX and BSD and did not find any promising information.

Currently I have a main computer that has FreeBSD on it (my prefered OS for everything but my graphic design college work) and an Apple Macbook that I do all of my college graphic design work on.

My main question is this: Has anyone sucessfully used boot-camp to dual boot Mac OSX and Free/Open/NetBSD? If this were possible, it would immediately seal the deal for me to start saving for a mac pro.

I remember hearing about the first person to get Linux running on an intel mac, but beyond that, I really haven't heard much at all. :(

I use Parallels (http://www.parallels.com/en/products/desktop/) to run a corporate version of Red Hat on my MacBook Pro. It works great, and there's no real need to dual-boot. You can have both OS's available at one time.

Personal preference, I would rather dual-boot. Has anyone done this before?

The only way to run linux on an intel mac at this time is with Parallels. There's some guy who successfully dual booted linux on his intel mac but could not install the GUI or something.

actually there are 6 guides on TuxMobil (http://tuxmobil.org/apple.html) on MBs and MBPs it should be a similer steps for the creating BSD systems, the ones tested were Ubuntu, Debian and Gentoo.

Very cool. Thank you. Hopefully sometime in the near future, installers will recognize the intel macs and adjust the installer settings for them.

Anyone know of a mac pro guide? Or has anyone here tried this?

EDIT: It seems like there is a lot of info on the Ubuntu forums. People have had hit or miss luck with the mac pro. It seems to correlate as to whether they have a sony or pioneer optical drive. But people HAVE gotten it to work.
