ichat w/aim not signing on

I just got my new iMac set up to the internet and ichat is not letting me sign on to my aim account for some reason. I have tried it a few times and thought that maybe the network was done but it worked when I downloaded aim from aol.

Any ideas?
 
nope...registered as aim...just keeps saying "connection with the host was unexpectedly lost"
