My super-trusty, very easy to use mac is sick.

For the first time, it started doing very PC like things (restarting unexpectedly, applications quitting, etc...), so I got on the phone with AppleCare, and I have a hardware failure!

Thankfully, they were very nice, helpful, and they think they can fix it.

Despite being a recent switcher, I totally rely on my machine now! What am I going to do for the 3-4 days they have it? Arg!

:(

It takes a bit of URL hacking, here's how I usually do it:

Take the thread URL for example, the relaxation thread:

https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23924

And then take the post id of the one you want to point to, mine for example is

&postid=307940

I got that by right (or ctrl clicking for you one button mouse users) on the IP: Logged at the bottom right corner of every post, take everything from the & sign on and use that to replace everything from the & sign on in the origional URL so it ends up like this:

https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=307940

Then you put a # at the end of the URL and copy the post ID number (307940 in this case) and put it right after the #.

You then end up with something that looks like this:

https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=307940#post307940

Good relaxation technique also.

Note: I didn't put URL tags around these because vB compresses them to fit if they're too long and its harder to demonstrate things like this.
