Does anyone know how I can dim the imac screen on command. Is there a way or a software that does that? I want it dimmed to black so it`s just like when it`s off.

use F14 and F15 to adjust the brightness of the LCD

F14 & F15 will not dim the display completely (i.e. to black).

I was just wondering if someone that keeps the Brightness a couple notches down, in the long term would this prolong the life of the Blacklight?

Thanks

^^^Technically the lights life should be extended? But yu'll probably get a new mac by then.

Don't know if you knew this but holding play/pause on the remote sleeps the iMac instantly. just hold it till a sleeping remote pops up, enjoy!

Thats cool! I sometimes wonder why they don't advertise these "hidden" features? There are a ton of little neat/useful things you can do that Apple never bothers to tell anyone about.
