Here is what my imac 24" (256 7600gt) 2gb ram clocked on Doom3 in 10.4.7:

1600 x 1200 - high quality everything on, 54.2fps
1024 x 768 - ultra quality everything on, 50.9fps
800 x 600 - medium quality everything on, 65.3fps
1920 x 1200 - 44.7fps

Here is what is clocked after the 10.4.8 update (with openGL improvements):

1600 x 1200 - high quality everything on, 94.5fps
1024 x 768 - ultra quality everything on, 50.6fps
800 x 600 - medium quality everything on, 99.5fps
1920 x 1200 - 49.5fps

Some improvements generally (except with ultra on with the 1024 x 768 test) but nearly topped a hundred in the 800 x 600 test, with a slight improvement at 1920 x 1200 (thats what im interested in baby)

its not totally scientific benchmarks but i hope its interesting to some.

im afraid it is the only game i have (universal anyway) plus i didnt benchmark anyothers before the update. hoping to get quake 4 at some point (not a massive gamer).

The above games are Universal Binaries, and he said he ran them in 10.4.7/8, esp for comparison purposes, you cannot run HL2/CS:S in OSX...

Nice benchmarks speakerwizard. :)

Except it is a bit more graphics intensive (slightly more modern game, but as you said, built on the Doom 3 engine). :)

Yes it's the same engine, but I read a review yesterday that said quake4 unleashed some tricks that they didn't show off in Doom3. Doom3 ran fine on my windows box, but quake4 crawled.
