Hey: I am writing an article, and I need a fact. How large is the base install of OS X? If possible, with and w/o iLife and other add-ons.

It's been discussed in the forums before (hint: search! :p ), but FYI, it's around 2Gb for PPC (just under if my brain's not lying to me), and a little more for Intel.
256MB of RAM
3GB of available hard disk space (4GB if you install the developer tools)

remember its not the size of the install that matters - it is how you use it ;)

A "base" install is not installed by default on any machine.
The "base" install does not include several gigs of language translations, printer drivers for every printer ever made, and some other crap.
I believe it falls just slightly under 2gb. Like 1.9gb or something.
