One of the things I'm very interested in is contemporary design, and to that end I am a subscriber of the magazine Metropolitan Home. They're a magazine that often features Macs in their photoshoots, and has mentioned Apple on a few occasions. This month, they did a "Design 100: The Best of the Best: Extraordinary Things" section where they rated anything and everything. Sure enough, they proclaim Apple the "User-friendliest 'Geek Chic' Zone"-- complete with a photo and paragraph about the SoHo Apple Store.
The opening of the vast new Apple computer store in NYC's SoHo district, designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson with Ronnette Riley Architect, brings the sleek, simple Macintosh aesthetic to retail. In the glass-filled, two-story space you can buy hardware, software and everyting in between--and have all your questioned answered in plain language, not geek-speak. Upstairs are two dedicated "genius bars," where experts serve up help when you're not feeling so smart. And there's a roomy theater where Apple experts give free seminars. This is one emporium where service matters as much as style.
Okay, i'll admit i'm a little overexcited... but it's so cool when your two biggest interests meet up...
:)
