IBM just released new lower power G5 chips. Does anyone wonder if any of these will make it into upgrades for G5 machines? It could be a nice upgrade for rev A owners to go from 1.6 to 2.5GHz.

Seriously, isn't this what the 970GX is? Or was that just deemed a "mobile solution" in general, not necessarily a low power solution?

Edit: Just read the actual article - so this is the GX, in part??? Wasn't that discussed ages ago along with the 970MP?!? I just assumed it had been released already... geez... :eek:

I have no shame so.... here goes:

Does this mean we will have PowerBook G5's next Tuesday??? If so I have a credit card ready....and so forth and so on..... :)

Oh yeah... I'd seriously like to get my hands on the long awaited PowerBook G5. Intel is nice when you have a couple of Xeons but those MacBooks are kinda lame :D
