is there a website that tells you the history of your apple computer? details such as manufactured date and who it was registered to first and if its been to service, etc.

i tried that support section of the www.apple.com/support page but it only gives when it was registered. i need more info cause my computer is used and i dont have a receipt and i need to know when it was manufactured because if i purchase apple care it will start from there - not from date registered.

if you call apple directly maybe they can help more. as far as like a carfax for apple computers... never heard of one.

quick/easy method, if you've never re-installed the OS, is to get info on your boot drive, and see what day it was created...

Not quite the same thing, but if you want some info (e.g., system specs) on your, or any, Mac- then try using Mactracker, it is a great app. :)
