Accented E?

How do I type an accented letter E? I know I've done it before, I just don't remember how.

Hold down Option, and "e", release, then hit "e" again alone.

Assuming you want an acute accent...
A grave accent is Opt+` followed by the letter, a circumflex is Opt+i, and a diaresis is Opt+u.
