Just seems to "fix" (patch) their cruddy coding. Nothing new, though I guess we shouldn't expect that.

Off topic, sort of, has anyone gotten M$ Office to load faster than the standard config? Like adobe apps, Office loads everything but the kitchen sink on launch. Can I get it to just frickin' open, or do I need to have it sprawl out as such? I'm not a noob, I just haven't cared enough or use Office enough till now to deal with it.

Thanks.

Thanks for this - I never get an email alert about office updates (still using X myself) - and I only visit the mactopia site periodically when I remember - wish there was a 'check for updates' facility within office somewhere...ah well

No, you shouldn't expect new functionality. That isn't the purpose of most point releases. New features don't make it into (most) products until the next version.

Don't just bash Microsoft for the sake of bashing the "big bully" (as evidenced by your "M$")

There is in Office 2004, under the Help menu. It's literally called, "Check for Updates" and allows for manual and automatic checking (you can set the time frequency).
