Something like this (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wo/3.RSLID?mco=B203C677&nplm=TA399LL%2FA) would be excellent, but I'm really not looking to spend $25 if I can help it. I'm very strapped for cash (like always).
It doesn't have to be that model cable, although that particular one is very nice. :D
Even a simple adapter like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/HOSA-GMP-386-Mono-1-4-to-Stereo-1-8-Audio-Adapter-NEW_W0QQitemZ260039911494QQihZ016QQcategoryZ23783QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem) would work, but I'd rather have a cable if I can find someone here with one.
Let me know what ya got and what ya want for it. :)

Nevermind, I just reread your post and saw that you didn't want an adapter.
Really though the loss through the adapter probably isn't that much. That's how I currently have my strat hooked into my computer and it really does work great. Give it a shot.

I use the adapter, and it works well for me.
It's on an electric fiddle, btw.

An adapter will work fine. I didn't mean to come across like I didn't want one, I'd just prefer a cable if I can get one for cheap. Also, because I'd like to be able to run the normal cable from my guitar to my amp, then a second cable from the amp to the computer, but I only have one cable. That is the primary reason for preferring a cable over an adapter, but either will work.
How much for the adapter? :)

Hm.
I'd really like something soon, sorry to bump the thread.
Anyone have anything they'd like to sell?
Is my best bet just buying that adapter from eBay?

Wow. I think the Radio Shack down the street from my house has the actual cable I'm looking for priced at only $4.99! :)
Please post anything you guys may have, but I think I'll be buying this tomorrow if they aren't junk.

Any 1/4 to 1/8 inch cable you can find shouldwork. The one you linked to from Monster is that price because of the components invloved. the one from Radio Shack will work; but it is from Radio Shack. My experience with Radio Shack cables is that they are scatchy and will have a limited life.
So I will stop rambling there. As long as you can find a cable with a 1/4" and a 1/8" male connectors on it, that should work.

Got the Radio Shack one working. It doesn't have to last forever, just so long as I get my $5 worth from it. :)
