I want to upgrade my SuperDrive that came with my PowerMac G5 1.6GHz, but I can't seem to find a list of fully Apple-supported burners. What do you recommend? I really like LaCie's LightScribe, but I could do without it.

Most superdrives will work with macs (though you will need iDVD 6 to burn DVD's on a third party drives). I have a Lacie double-layer lightscribe superdrive (External) and it works great with both Finder and iDVD 6. ;)

Use OWC: http://eshop.macsales.com/MyOWC/Upgrades.cfm?Model=182&Type=Internal+Optical+Drives&TI=0908

They have pretty decent prices and have a lot of options, all customized for your specific Mac model.

you definitely pay a premium on lacie and apple branded drives. see if there's a drive on sale that will work with you mac:
