Anybody getting this? I've had it preordered for a while and should have it sometime this week for the 360. I got the multiplayer demo off of the Live Marketplace. I tried it a few times on system link by myself to get a feel for the levels... the AI was iffy but worked I suppose. Hunting AI is kind of hard I guess. Playing online was excellent though. I'm very glad they've mellowed out the spies. Finally the spies can work on doing spying instead of being ninja assassins. I found the mercenary experience more enjoyable being able to focus on my mission instead of having to constantly watch my back.
Of course the multiplayer and the single player are completely different beasts but I'm sure they haven't botched up the single player at all.
I guess we'll see soon!
Maybe we should make a "Team MacRumors" of spies/mercs. :)

It does look good. And has the voice of Michael Ironside aka Richter from Total Recall. That's my favourite role as he dies by getting his arms chopped off and falling a few hundred feet. Verhoeven is a genius!

I'll probably be getting Double Agent for the Wii. I've fallen in love with the series and I'm eager to see what Ubi has done with this game. It looks like it's gonna be a ton of fun.
However, I'll probably wait until Christmas before I get this game, as the only game I'll be playing for a while will be LoZ:Twilight Princess.
EDIT: I remember Ironside mostly from his role in Top Gun.

You took the words right out of my mouth, all of them! I'm getting this on the Wii, loved the Xbox versions, but will have to fit this in after Zelda. And 'Jester' in Top Gun is where I always picture Michael Ironside.

Hmmm. I just noticed that the game's only $40 on the GC, but will be $50 on the Wii. I might just end up picking up the GC version.

Damn, that is a great site. I wish I had known about it last week when they showed the deal to get Table Tennis for $15. It's not the greatest game, but the price was too good to pass.
I think I will wait for the Toys'R'Us deal as well. I want both Splinter Cell and Tiger Woods, and now I can get a third game too. Should give me plenty to play in the next months including Gears of War when that comes out.

Ok I absolutely loved Chaos Theory because of the amazing co-op levels. None of the reviews about the game say anything about co-op in Double agent. Did they not put the best part of Chaos Theory into Double Agent?

In the multiplayer demo of DA, there is an option for co-op. I never played co-op in Chaos Theory, but it sounds like great fun. Wouldn't be cool if you had to whisper in to the headset – too much noise and you alerted guards!

Well biggest difference is obvious, it's solo based with no squads. There is more strategy and patience required too, as you cant run into a zone and hope your team mates will cover you.
More about hiding in shadows and waiting to make your kill, than behind a wall shooting your automatic rifle off into the distance.
The single player game is excellent, and I'm enjoying it more than Ghost Recon, but that's not to slate GRAW, I love that too, its just different.

Shameless plug for the SC: DA video review at gametrailers.com (http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?fs=1&id=2205). The GFX look great and the plot/double agent aspect adds a nice twist to the game to help it from feeling like just another Splinter Cell. The new scope mode has got to be my favorite new feature in the game.

however, today im off to pick up the new Sony 40" TFT . 1080p. zing..

I just picked this game up last night. The training missions are some of the coolest I have ever seen, feels very Matrix inspired.
I played a little into the game, but I had stuff to do so I didn't get that far into the first level.
One thing I don't like so far is the ladies voice that announces the options in the menus for the game. The voice is fine, but she waits like half a second and sometimes I am already on the next menu and she is still saying what was there before.

My only complaint is the perspective of the camera. It seems more claustrophobic than the others. Too many times the camera is inches from Sam's head, and I can't see my surroundings, other than that, it's friggin' sweet. The supertankaer level is dang purty, and 'icing' guys is fun...

When did this hit stores? Amazon is showing that it is released tomorrow. I assume then that must only mean when they ship it? I hope Toys R Us has it as I plan on making a trip in there tonight to take advantage of the 2 for 3 offer.

Pandora Tomorrow didn't have Co-op. Only Chaos Theory. Still, even though it's with bots, the Co-op is still rather enjoyable. The bots are harder than any of the people I've played against. 4 stars are brutal.

The nerfed multiplayer is definitely annoying, and I miss the "real" co-op mode, and the camera is way too close to Sam at times, but I have still been having a lot of fun with this game. IMO definitely worth a buy.

It was on Normal or Regular or whatever the middle option is.
As I said, I'm no pro, and even Normal was a bit of a challenge for me. Many many level repeats and retries, not a smooth, easy play at all. Sure, I could increase my gameplay by having upped the difficulty level to difficult, but why? I want more gameplay, not a rediculously difficult game that extends gameplay simply by demanding your attention for hours on end to simply progress to the next checkpoint. I was dissapointed by the brevity of it, not by the ease.
This is not a rant at you, but rather a rant about the game itself and what I felt it lacked in. I feel it was a waste of $60.

I just created a squad, so if anyone wants to join, send me a friend request. My Xbox Live name is BiLLum. The squad name is MRSqaud, and our motto is "G5 PowerBook Next Tuesday" :). Looks like there is only enough room for about 5 people to join. I would really like to get a group of people to play with and beat some of the missions together. I just got the game, so I'm still learning and don't expect me to be an expert. I am on east coast time and I usually play later at night, around 8pm. Hope to see some people online!!.

Splinter Cell games are usually rather short on the single player. The challenge though, is attempting to get 100% stealth in every level. That is what the games are for. You could actually beat the game even quicker if you shot everybody in the head. Not saying you did that at all but strive for 100% stealth rating in every level. This means not even taking guys out. For me Splinter Cell has always been about setting my own challenges.
Where the game shines however is multiplayer. If you think the single player was easy try the multiplayer. It will most likely change your mind about the game.
If that doesn't work then I guess you can just resell the game on eBay or your local game store. You'll at least get a portion of your money back.
Me... I spent at least 3-4 hours on the ice level with the ship. My final time was 40 minutes but overall I spent way too much. :)
