itunes!

change you converting settings to mp3 and right click an aac. it will say convert to mp3.

ba da bing..

sry i'm confused with this right clicking business lol can u tell me step-by-step how to do it?

right click any song in your library. then right click it and there will be an option for converting it to MP3.

you must change the setting under importing in preference.

this will create a copy of the song, so you will essentially have a AAC and an MP3 on your computer.

delete whichever you chose [the aac presumably].

oo i thought u were gunna explain how to convert movies so they can go onto itunes thats y i asked for mp4

The only reason you need to convert movies is so they can be put on an iPod. For that you'll need ffmpegX (or Handbrake if you're going straight from DVD). If you just want them in iTunes, it will play any movie which QuickTime will.

That might've been good information to impart in, you know, the first post... since you're on MacRumors. In that case, can't help you much... I've only ever done H.264 video encoding on OS X.
