VersionTracker; which is the best for password saves

Okay, I am having a hard time functioning without password save. I am even doing the unthinkable as we speak; I am turning off my Mac and going to use my Dell (it's on ebay right now) because it saved all my passwords. Well DH told me that versiontracker offers many "save password" options but I don't know what to use. My Dell was really acting up the whole time I had it because I downloaded too much stuff. I don't want to make this mistake with my Mac, so please tell me your recommendations!

your keychain holds some passwords...
get the latest builds (unreleased) of Safari and it lets you save passwords in your keychain (Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain Access).

Camino (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/camino/) also uses the keychain for everything.

do you know if these things write in the passwords for you when you log onto a site. I don't think keychain does this.

You are incorrect. Keychain DOES write in the password for you when you log onto a site.

unless you're the only person who uses that computer it's not a good idea to let keychain fill in the passwords for you. the last time i did that one of my friends deleted all of my e-mails.

Ah, well if you use multi-user login on the machine then you have nothing to fear. You can set up a non volatile area for everyone else and you can have your own area pornographic desktop and everything. Keychains are tied to each individual user so you don't have to worry about protecting them. Also if you are using a program such as Camino which is keychain aware yes it does auto fill your name and password.

I am the only one who uses this computer. Don't have anything private going on in my life now anyway. DH has powerbook 15 inch so he only uses it a bit (likes mine better actually). Anyway, I have put some passwords into keychain (not even sure what I'm doing there) but when I go to the webpage, nothing happens, I still type both login and password. What am I doing wrong? I am using Safari now, do you recommend Mozilla instead of Safari? Don't want to download too much because of my horrible experience with my Dell crashing every minute. Is keychain not working because I am using Safair now (I can't wait til Safari is updated because I go to various online shopping sites, etc, where they even remember my credit card info). I do most of my shopping online since I have my hands full with DD and school. Having a password memorizer is essential for ME! THANKS AGAIN,

Safari is not keychain compatible at this time. Use Camino (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/camino/) if you want to be able to use keychains.
