iPod Cloning imac HD to iPod

Is it posible for me to clone some kind of compressed image of my imac HD to my 30 GB iPod? I have an imac g5 with 250 GB HD and I am currently using 29.65 GB of space of it. I have only 24.4 GB of free space on my iPod so the problem is obvious.
