What is the best "music" keyboard to get for your Mac?

I have a buddy that is looking to connect a keyboard into his Mac and use it with Garageband. Any suggestions?

M-Audio 49e. Works seamlessly with Garageband and is cheap!

I use that too. Easy to use and doesn't cost a lot. You can't go wrong...

count me in on the m-audio 49e too. it's inexpensive and basic. all the bells and whistles you get on more expensive keyboards you can pretty much do in garageband anyway

What is the best way to connect a standard Yamaha keyboard with MIDI port? Is there a cable that inputs MIDI to USB into a Mac?

Yes, Cable plus a small box, it's called a MIDI-USB Interface and they are available from M-Audio and Edirol, plus others.
