My sister owns one, but I am afraid I don't. They are totally
awesome, and I really wish I had one... oh well... :( ;)

Yes I do. 10Gb purchased in December 2002.
I have to say, next to my iBook, it's the best purchase I've ever made.

Ask me again soon after this Tuesday. Or is it next Tuesday? ;) There's always April 28th... I figure by then the Tooth Faerie (tax man) will have left a nice present in my bank account. :D

I have a 10 gig. It's great, but my son seems to use more than I do.

ohhh my ipod has seen me through some tough workouts...pumping the great tunes trying to get through the cardio routine...
i use it constantly. besides my imac, i think it's the single greatest purchase i've ever made.
i got the 20gb thinking that it would take me a long time to amass that much music...yeah right. now i'm sitting here with 25 gb of music in itunes and deciding how to cut down 7 gb.

I'm going to wait for a cheaper unit (either Mac or someone else). I wouldn't use it enough right now to justify it's purchase.

I have one 5 gig iPod and I love it, I think it was the best purchase that I have ever made, use it ALOT!
Its interesting to hear SO many people say the same.
I wanted to get another one, the 10 gig
and have been waiting like everyone else for the revisions. Until I saw the new sketches for the button versions,, Puke!
NOW I have no idea what to do.

Yup, I have a 10gig iPod I got for my birthday last Feb, apart from the TiBook it is undoubtedly the single best piece of tech I've ever bought, well, maybe my Warwick Thumb 5-string bass is in with a shout, but it's a close thing.
Still waiting for the 17" PB to turn up, so I guess that will take over as No 1 for a while.:D :D :D

I don't have one, currently no interest.
I find it interesting that 48.96% said yes and 51.04% said no with 911 total votes. Apple has a great untapped market. Wonder if it's that others want iPod to have additonal features, like ability download medical information for use as a visiting nurse.

Exactly. Half of the people still don't have an iPod (myself included). If Apple can get it all together with new iPods, iTunes 4, and a music service-they will sell many more.

Interesting that only half of those polled own iPods. I don't think people are waiting for a downloadable music service, perhaps just more software features and a lower price tag. I would like to upgrade when new iPods come out, but I don't think I'll be able to afford it. It took long enough to save for the one I have now!!!

i wonder if the percent of mac owners who own an ipod is higher than pc users who own an mp3 player.
i personally would love to upgrade to a bigger ipod if they come out...but i don't know, it seems so frivilous since i already have a 20GB. i'd probably get a firewire hard drive first...i'm running out with the 60GB i have on my imac.

Personally, I can't justify spending $300 and up on an MP3 player, even though the iPod is definitely the best one out there. It's just too expensive for me, because I don't listen to music often enough to justify the purchase.
I'd much rather get an Apple-branded PDA/Smartphone with MobileOSX on it!:D

i didn't listen to a lot of music...until i got my iPod :D
goodbye all that free time i wasted reading books...it's music now :D
i justified spending $$$ for a 10gb iPod by telling my parents i need it for school...and since an iPod is waaaaaay bigger than a few CD's, DVD's or floppies (yes, floppies) i needed it for those big projects :D

Just remember scem0 that your time is coming. Most of us have been through you situation. Only those born with a silver spoon in their mouth don't have a money issue at you age. :p
Please be patient, but I also realize that is hard! ;)

very true...it was sooo much easier just to put my huge photoshop files on the ipod to take to the lab or whatnot instead of dragging a whole bunch of zips...since i don't have a laptop, anyway.

I got mine in Dec. 2001. It's been replaced once but it's still my number one companion. Taking that baby on a plane is so much nicer than hauling along 100 CDs. I still haven't filled all 5 GB of it so I see no point in upgrading.
