I've got a folder of 300 or so pictures. Of the 300, maybe 100 show as thumbs, while the other show the standard .jpg file graphic. how can i enable the others to show as thumbs too? All of the files are jpeg, and come from the same camera. running mac osx.2.5

what have you viewed these files with?
if you save the files without thumbnails then the images won't show up. However, its my assumption that you haven't done anything with them and that its seems random that they're with or with out image thumbs.
Try openning them in photoshop and resaving, that should work.

what version of iPhoto (if that's what you're using) do you have?

Sometimes if I open the files in Preview their image in the Finder changes to a thumbnail of their real image.

i imported the pictures directly from my camera, as it mounted like a drive. tried the open/resave but to no avail. is there some way to "refresh" a folder so they might show up then?

i just import using iPhoto so i get the smallish pics automatic like. i'd put them all back on the camera and then redo via iPhoto....
is that feasible?

The Answer to your Problems lies here...
I just found this myself... so i'm pretty psyched
1. Open the Folder
2. Finder -> View -> Show View Options
3. Click This Window Only
4. Check off Show Icon Preview
5. Increase the Icon Size to the size you want

I thought a checked off "Show Icon Preview" was pretty cool too untill about the tenth time I mounted a Sony memory stick and waited way way to long again for the OS to write an icon for each file on the memory stick.
