Epson's Reply
Thank you for contacting the Epson Connection.
We can only guarantee or recommend printing up to 44 inches on our
printers.
In OS X, custom paper sizes are a function of the operating system. The
steps below will assist you in setting up a custom paper size, however
please keep in mind that because these sizes are not being created within
the printer driver itself, we cannot guarantee the placement of output on a
custom-created page. For example, some Stylus Photo printers which offer
different paper loading methods or feed paths may not observe the feed
method selected.
The procedure varies slightly depending on the OS version in use. Start by
opening a file to print in any OS X-based program.
IN 10.2:
1. Go to File > Page Setup.
2. Use the up/down arrows at the end of "Settings" to select "Custom Paper
Size".
3. Click New. Rename "Untitled". Enter desired size and margins and click
Save then OK.
4. Return to File > Page Setup. Ensure the Epson printer name is selected
as "Printer" or "Format For" and the newly created size is the selected
"Paper Size".
IN 10.3:
1. Go to File > Page Setup.
2. Use the up/down arrows at the end of "Page Attributes" to select "Custom
Paper Size".
3. Click New. Rename "Untitled". Enter desired size and margins and click
Save then OK.
4. Return to File > Page Setup. Ensure the Epson printer name is selected
as "Printer" or "Format For" and the newly created size is the selected
"Paper Size".
IN 10.4:
1. Go to File > Page Setup.
2. Use the up/down arrows at the end of "Paper Size" to select "Manage
Custom Sizes".
3. Press "+" to create a new paper size. "Untitled" appears. (To rename
this, double-click "Untitled".) Enter desired size and margins and click
Save then OK.
4. Return to File > Page Setup. Ensure the Epson printer name is selected
as "Printer" or "Format For" and the newly created size is the selected
"Paper Size".
NOTES:
-These steps do not apply to 10.0 or 10.1 as these operating systems did
not have the ability to create custom paper sizes.
-Borderless printing is not supported with custom paper sizes. We would
recommend using margins of 0.25 for the left, top, bottom and right.
-Depending on the model of printer, the margins set will influence the feed
methods available.
-When creating a custom paper size for 13" paper, you will need to make the
width 12.94" for the best results.
-To change between imperial or metric units do the following:
1. Go to Apple, System Preferences.
2. Open International Formats and click the "Measurement Units" tab.
3. Choose from U.S. (Imperial/inches) or Metric (centimeters).
These steps are presented for your information only. While the custom page
size may be recognized by the program in use, we cannot always predict how
it will print or interact with other layout and page controls within the
printer driver. If you are having any further difficulties with custom
paper sizes, we would recommend contacting Apple since custom paper sizes
in OS X are part of the OS and not the printer driver. You can also try a
third-party printer driver like Gimp Print, however Epson America doesnt
support or guarantee the results of third-party drivers.
