Ok, I have installed stuff on my admin account,my only account, and the computer has slowed down... I just made a new account and the computer is much faster (less fonts, etc...) Now I want to tranfer all my documents, music, etc in the quickest way possible... I have an external hard drive which has everything backed up, but when I go to transfer stuff it states that only my old account has permission to access those folders...

What do people suggest for the quickest transfer possible?

do people have two acccounts... admin and their regular account?

In the "Users" folder there is another folder called "Shared". I think you have to put the folders here. But I am not completely sure.

I only use the admin account. I created a new one just to test new programs that I am not sure that they work well (this way I don't mess the admin account).

Is it recomendable to use the admin account as the main one?

Roco,

If you have your data was backed up on an external HD using an app like SuperDuper, you could try using the Migration Assistant (located in your Utilities folder).
