hey guys, i have some Q's after getting my second widescreen 19" monitor and having the same stupid ghosting/color shadowing problems. Well i ended up getting a nice LG widescreen 19" 5ms response 2000:1 contrast etc.
questions are as follows:

1. connect 360, i have it turned on and i don't think the xbox reconises it, do i have to have the wireless 360 adapter, cause i have a core solo with airport.

2. will the official VGA cable really NOT ghost, cause this is really pissing me off and burning a whole in my pocket, just dropped 30$ on a new official cable should be here next week.

3. Whats the best res to set my 360 at when running on my LG 1440 x 900 monitor. I mean is there a way to avoid the ghosting, what if i get the same ghosting with my new official VGA cable. here are some examples of the problems ive been having.
(CLICK FOR LARGER IMAGE) these are thumbs. thanks!

1. You have to have some method of connecting your 360 to your Mac. So either use an Ethernet cable or a wireless adapter (the official one is not necessary).

2. Yes. The unofficial cables are apparently notorious for ghosting, while the official one is not.

3. Hmm… well, when you get your cable give us a list of resolutions the 360 offers in the monitor tab.

There was slight ghosting on my 42" plasma before the display was calibrated. Check your contrast levels on the TV.

anything this bad? as i showed? also when i get the cable i will post examples and resolutions, i am just feeling like an idiot and that maybe its because the monitor doesn't have the exact res offered with the cable. cause my old 15" LCD looked HD and crisp and perfect with the mad catz cable. IM banking on the cable being bad now. any thoughts?

here is a link to the monitor i was using before i believe. http://www.dealtime.co.uk/xPF-Samsung-SyncMaster-570-15-in-20133611

and i am SURE it didn't have this problem running at 1024 x 768? but that couldn't be the problem correct? if so how would that make sense. this monitor is obviously better that i have now. i bought it SO i could play in widescreen which i like and watch widescreen movies on my mac mini. here is what i have now: http://ca.lge.com/en/prodmodeldetail.do?actType=search&page=1&modelCategoryId=040103&categoryId=040103&parentId=0401&modelCodeDisplay=L194WTX&enlarge=%2Fen%2Fdown%2Fproduct%2F040103%2FM4201C-BA%2FM4201C-F_L.jpg&model=11

please tell me its not the monitor, as i went to the store and they said it was fine, i made them test it on a similar 19" LCD and we had the same "Ghosting" problem. hope im doing the right thing ordering this new official microsoft cable. and BTW i'll try to connect the xbox with ethernet to my mini tomorrow.

Thanks

If you still have problems, take the monitor back to where you bought it, and I'm sure they'll exchange it.

We get this time to time with the LGs. Its unfortunate really. :/

well the thing is it looked fine apparently plugged into a VGA PC. so they said they couldn't unless i paid the restocking fee which i didn't think was worth it.

There's a bunch of themes out there, several for free (check out the Bringing it Home section in the marketplace) but in my humble opinion, they're mostly crap. It's a good bet the Fall dashboard update (next month) will let you change every picture in the theme.

And to answer your question about free Microsoft points--not gonna happen. It's called Marketplace for a reason ;) Your best bet is to keep a vigilent watch on this site (http://www.cheapassgamer.com) to see if there's any deals on MS point packs.

thanks, i will check that out. its just that i don't have a credit card i am probably gonna buy a xbox live account off ebay 13 month for 39US and then just email me the code. also what is the best thing to do about a hard drive. i have a memory card now and want a hard drive if i get live, should i just bite the bullet and buy a new one for 130 + tax CAD? if i buy a broken one off ebay: B4Q-00002 can i get microsoft to replace it for free or would that be pointless if i can get 2 of them for under 60$ then sell the other one i get replaced? or what? should i just buy a new one in the stores. it just seems sooooo expensive. any other routes in getting a hard drive that works for 360?

Thanks you guys have been a big help.

p.s the stuff seen here: http://www.slightlyremarkable.com/2006/04/xbox-live-via-mac

has to be done every time i restart my mac or my xbox? cause it was working before now i turn on my xbox and its not recognized ?

thanks
