Hi all
Im new to this but this is my question.A friend has an Ipod nano on which are recorded, only songs from her sisters Mac-so Ipod configured itself right away from new to Mac os yes?
Ive built her an XP based PC now she wants to preserve the Mac songs somewhere before adding songs from PC.When we connect her Ipod to Itunes on PC it just wants to format it to Windows system so deleting her Mac-origin songs, there is no option to save or explore the Ipod stuff..
How can we save them somewhere or will these mac songs just have to go west, and should we just go ahead and sacrifice them?😱

Any ideas most welcome🙂

You have two options.

One: leave the song files on the Mac temporarily, then hook up the iPod to the PC and restore the software, which will erase the iPod and change it to Windows formatting. You can then go back to the Mac (which can use a Windows-formatted iPod just fine), put the songs on the iPod, and the PC can read them.

Two: Use the five-day free trial of MacDrive to fetch the files from the Mac-formatted iPod onto the Windows hard drive, then erase the iPod and format for Windows.
