Help! My MacBook is frozen!!

I was in Microsoft Word for Mac, on my MacBook, went to save file to my flashdrive and then it froze!! It never did it before. I tried force quitting it, but it isnt doing anything. All I see on my screen is my MC document and the apple swirly icon (the circle with the colors).

Please help! I need this for school.

Push Command + Control + Power button. This will restart the computer.

1. take battery out
2. unplug magsafe adapter thingie
3. press power button for 5 seconds
4. put battery back in
5. put magsafe back in

it works for me every time! i even read it in the instruction book that came with my macbook, cause sometimes it doesn't wake up out of sleep mode
