Need advice on a good scanner for glossy or laminated materials

Difficult. The glossy surface is going to mess it up in a big way on any scanner, is my thought. Anyone tried it?

Tried it on an Epson Perfection 2450 - Glossy print, as in varnished magazine cover is OK. Laminated driver's license is so-so. CD in older jewel case is so-so. A Flash Memory card in plastic laminate has significant blown out hot spots.

Maybe a copy stand with a digital camera and very diffuse lighting?
 
Thanks for the info. I was really hoping to find a simple scanner to do this as the person who is scanning them needs something very easy to work with.

Anyone have any other scanners the would recommend?
 
My Epson 4800 does it fine. My passport and credit cards scan well. Jewel-case is perfect, too.
