I want to buy a cheap used powerbook. It will mostly be used for running keynote presentations and for word processing. I was wondering what the oldest powerbook that I could run keynote on was.

An expert I am not, but I would look for a Powerbook Ti or PowerBook G4 (1 GHz/867 MHz) I think.

I'm only really here at night.
The faster the better, and mAxDaRam 4 sure.

iWork (Keynote & pages) requires at least a 500mhz G4, 32mb of vram, and 10.3.9.

So a 667/800mhz DVI model (code named "Ivory") or later would be your best bet for decent performance :)

Thanks. Would I get the best deal on ebay or is there somewhere else that I could get a better deal?

ebay, google search (there are many places that sell used macs), or check the threads here...:)

I'd say go for the 1.33ghz G4 model to ensure you decent performance for future programs. But like everyone says, faster the better.

You tend to find some 1.5ghz and 1.67's go for cheap too.
