is $900 way too low of an offer?
i'm just trying to get an idea, we're looking to get my brother a g5 iMac for christmas and I think $900 is pretty much the top of our price range

yea $900 is a little low for this model, sorry
however, my girlfriend is looking to get rid of her iMac G5
it is a 17" 2.0 Ghz
no isight though
160gb HDD
Airport Express
Bluetooth
Perfect Working Condition
and Apple Care til Mid October 08
she recently bought a MacBook and hasnt really used her iMac much. She bought the iMac for 1200, plus 169 for apple care. She was hoping to get around 1000 for it but 900 would be good if you were interested.

you could prob. find someone around here who would sell a 17 in intel imac for that much (first gen tho). is there any reason why he would want a g5?

i sincerely doubt you could find someone who would sell a 17" intel iMac with 1.5gb of RAM AND applecare for 900
if they did, they would be ripping themselves off

sorry about that, i didnt see the applecare. you still can get an apple refurb for 950 (17in, 512, not integrated graphics, etc) and you have the 1 year warrenty and ram for those things is so cheap! still, your machine is bigger, badder, and you should definitely expect more than 900. just dont wait till the next intel revision :p. also i know how it feels to be knocked back a few notches. i thought my beloved imac was worth far more than it apparently is here.

i can vouch for bep207 as being an honest upstanding ebayer.
i've purchased from him several times....he delivers what he says he'll deliver.
always AS or BETTER than his descriptions.
good luck...sounds like a good deal!!

Actually, a few have gone for lower than that on here recently.

Just a note, I have this same machine and it throws around massive photoshop files like a dream. It is really a fantastic all in one, I'd very highly recommend it.

I just wanted to remind everyone that the auction was ending in 4 hours and it is going for a very reasonable price.
I dont mean for this to be considered a "bump" i just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of what I felt was a good deal to a fellow macrumor user.

Im happy for your auction! Here you may not get what you expect, but some ppl on ebay will pay top notch. im selling my imac (g4), and i already have a bid for 500, the MINiMUM i was to expect here. now i can actually think about a macbook!!!
