Ok, I need your help...

It's about time for me to Pimp My Powerbook and I could use your advice. I want to keep this baby going for awhile longer, so any tips you have will be appreciated.

This is what I plan to do:
Upgrade 60GB harddrive to 160 (or 200, if not too expensive)
Upgrade from 512 RAM to 1.256 (max)
Replace my Superdrive (it's busted...no apple care :-(

I'm looking for the cheapest way to do this. Also, I was thinking about a different maker for the Superdrive as there is no firmware crack for mine. I'm American, but travel a lot and live in Germany, so I need a region free player (or at least one I can crack).

I'm a student, so cheap is important! Alright experts...GO! First one back with the cheapest solution wins a cookie.

What kind of cookie?

My opinion is that you would possibly be better off buying a new machine unless you don't mind paying 300 for these upgrades. A new MacBook costs only 649 with student discount. If it was me, and I couldn't afford the cost of the MB, I would get a decent 120GB HD, Max out RAM and then just buy a combo drive unless you really need to make DVD's.

Anything bigger than 120GB for your machine is going to set you back alot.

Just my opinion.
