Hi all,
Anyone have a working 12" 1.33GHz PowerBook logic board?
I am pretty sure mine is fried, and there are none on EBay at the moment. I have read that I can only use another 1.33GHz, and can't use faster or slower boards.
Just checking,
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I'm on a budget here, so can really only afford to look for a logic board and fix myself.
Thanks again-

what're the symptoms your having? perhaps it's not the logic board at all?

Thanks for the reply. Here is what's going on-
My PB chimes at startup, but gets no further (screen never turns on.) The fan is on, and the caps lock light turns on and off, but nothing else happens. I can push the power button and power off. So somehow, the computer is simply not able to boot up.
I cannot boot from HD or CD, and have reset PMU and PRAM multiple times. I've taken the extra RAM stick and Airport card out too, to no avail. This happens whether I boot from AC, or from battery power.
I actually took out the HD to swap in a new one, and noticed that the hard drive was not secured in a mounting bracket (I bought this PB really cheap.) Had I known, of course I would have secured the HD immediately. But unfortunately the underside of the HD was exposed to the logic board, and I am suspecting either shorted the logic board or wiped out a trace. I am going to look over that area of the logic board with a magnifying glass and see if I spot anything.
Any suggestions? The symptom first happened the other day, when I noticed the computer shut off during sleep mode. I had problems booting up, but only temporary. Then later that day, the computer shut off again, and has not booted up since.
Thanks,
Steve
