Apple has release an update to Boot Camp!

Changes in Boot Camp 1.1.2 beta
Boot Camp 1.1.2 beta contains several updates and is intended for all new and previous Boot Camp beta users.

Boot Camp 1.1.2 beta includes:
*Support for the latest Intel-based Macintosh computers
*Easier partitioning using presets for popular sizes
*Ability to install Windows XP on any internal disk
*Support for built-in iSight cameras
*Support for built-in microphones
*Support for the Apple USB Modem
*Trackpad scrolling and right-click support on Apple Laptops
*Improved Apple keyboard support including Delete, PrintScreen, NumLock, and ScrollLock keys

Updating to Boot Camp 1.1.2 beta
If you previously installed Boot Camp beta, you can easily update to Boot Camp 1.1.2 beta. You don't need to partition your hard drive again (unless you want to change its size) or reinstall your Macintosh and Windows software or documents, but it's very important to update the Boot Camp Assistant software, create a new Macintosh Drivers for Windows CD and install the updated software it contains on Windows XP. Complete instructions are provided in the Installation and Setup Guide included with the Boot Camp 1.1.2 beta software.

I thought that information was always there so took it for granted that was just generic information.

I haven't downloaded yet, but I hope it fixes the scrolling for my Mighty Mouse in XP.

I don't/can't use BootCamp, but that is something Microsoft should have tried ages ago.

Weren't a lot of those features already in Boot Camp?

If those features were already include, Apple might have just improved their stability.

The feature list has been the same for all updates to Boot Camp. I assume they've just included slightly improved or newer drivers. Er, well, duh, what else would it include I guess. :) I wish knew what the actual changes were too.

many people reported problems with their new C2D MBP not working with the old bootcamp (1.1.1). Has anyone tried using bootcamp 1.1.2 with their new MBPs?

i'm using a $20 usb bluetooth adapter and it works perfect in both osX and winXP mainy used for my cell phone and headset but no real problems at all. Not too keen on the appl ebluetooth adapters.

I wish they could figure out a way to make bootcamp recognise more than 2gb of ram tho' !!

No you do not have to burn another driver cd.

Open Bootcamp and click on Utility in the menu bar, choose "Save MacIntosh Drivers to Folder", then copy that folder to a flash stick and use that in your XP.

Just a word of warning...

I just tried to install the BootCamp 1.1.2 update on my MacBook and I got a Blue Screen of Death when the Mac driver CD was trying to update the Apple Keyboard Support. Now I can't even get logged back in to XP because windows won't recognize the MacBook keyboard to let me enter my password. :(

Next step is to hook up an external keyboard to see if Windows will see that one...

Has anyone tested the drivers with Vista RC-1?

That's what I'm running on my MBP and I was wondering if anyone has gotten them to work (I can't download Bootcamp here, so I'm having my dad download it, burn it on a cd and mail it to me).

OK so here's something interesting. I've just updated to v1.1.2 having had v1.1.1 successfully installed and running. The problem is that now -- after the update -- I no longer have a right click (Right Apple + click). This is on a MacBook Pro.

Has anyone seen this and/or have any useful suggestions?

...And, of course, it gets even more interesting. Now (on the third reboot) the right Apple Key-click combination is actually working, ie it functions as a right click.

Interesting drivers... ;-)

I have tried rebooting many times, and tried rollingback/reinstalling the keyboard drivers but still no right click

Try two fingers on the trackpad and a click (ie while "holding down" the two fingers on the track pad). Also make certain you've actually "selected" a focus point: ie, (single) click on a desktop icon and then try to right-click using either the method I just indicated or holding down the Right Apple key while clicking.

I use Norton SystemWorks both for AV/security but also because of its "One Button Checkup" utility. It is a Registry cleaner. Run that -- or a similar such utility -- a couple of times just to make certain. I would also check in the Device Manager to see if there are any problematic devices -- these are indicated by either yellow exclamation marks (less serious) or red Xs (more serious if you NEED the device as it means it is disabled).

On my system I have a single yellow under Human Interface Devices and that is ignorable (at least for me). I also have three red Xs under Other devices, which is also ignorable. I suspect these are at least partially related to the internal "iSite" camera, which I don't use.

You can also follow this link
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=669534
to get another interim solution until you sort out what's happening on your system.

A boot into Safe Mode is also a good idea when configurations seem to be a bit odd. Boot into Safe Mode by holding down the F8 key after selecting Windows (but BEFORE the Windows logo comes up) and you should go into a menu interface that lets you select a Safe Mode start. Interrupt the normal startup process enough times and Windows puts you into that same menu. Once you've gotten to a desktop in Safe Mode, you can just do a regular restart. Safe Mode loads a small footprint of drivers and doing this can help the system sort out which drivers to load first etc -- kind of like cleaning up Extensions and Preferences.

I've been using it for a lot longer than that. I suspect you may be thinking about the "expire" period for un-authorized Windows installations.

One thing fixed is now CD eject only ejects first tray, second one with combination of ALT+EJECT as in OS X! NICE!! And not to mention closing works :))

Thank you Apple!

does right clikcing with the trackpad work now? and two finger scrolling? that's all i am interested in.

Two finger scrolling works great when scrolling down but its twitchy when trying to scroll up. As far as right clicking by two finger tapping, ehh not even a peep from windows. Heck I don't even get single finger left click taps to work.

drval
Nov 3, 2006, 12:45 PM
Tapping the pad itself as a left click is not yet implemented (as v1.1.2); however, I get two finger + click to function as a right click.

However, I do get a "wobble" cursor at times and have to plug in a USB mouse to solve the problem: ie after using the plug-in mouse for a few moments, I can unplug the mouse and go back to only using the trackpad.

My sense is that this phenomenon is connected in some way with the two finger scroll process (like I'm having a second finger 'too close' to the pad so it interprets it as a second finger).

Any ideas or suggestions? Anyone else seen this?

I got my C2D MBP today. Thought I'd quickly have a shot of gaming in windows, and have spent the day trying to get windows to work. I'm using bootcamp and the install works fine. Restart and install the drivers. First time it crashed half way through, and by crash I mean just switched off. Rebooted everything worked fine excpet bluetooth. I tried to install drivers again, seemed to work but no bluetooth still. So I started again, unpartitioned, repartitioned and finally install again. Once again a perfect install by windows, bravo and all that. Install the drivers, all goes fine, bluetooth symbol pops up, great. Do you want to restart, yes! I restart and then it won't boot. I get c:\windows\system32\pci. (or somethign similar) is missing can not boot. Try repair using XP CD. Not sure if this would work I went through the whole process again of installing windows, and got the same error of pci missing. What the hell is going on? Any ideas anyone. So annoyed, I could have lived without bluetooth under windows, but oh no I had to try fix it. Great! I dont even use windows except to game, and I've spent nearly all day trying to get it to work, I'm unimpressed!

And yes I am aware it is beta, but no one seems to have had this problem? Could the fact I'm using a CD-RW disc for the drivers have anythign to do with it? I can't see any reason why this would unless one of the drivers is related to the cd drive?

I have a problem receiving faxes. My external modem does not respond to an incoming call. I was wondering if installing bootcamp would solve the problem, seeing that it deals with the Idle Sleep bug. Would bootcamp be save in the iMac? I am not planning to install Windows - I am glad to get rid of it - to be honest.

happened to me, it was fine using bootcam previous beta version.

but this version hangs and shows BSOD telling something about Keymagic.sys during the installation of the drivers, i rebooted then no bluetooth icon. but the rest of the drivers are just fine.

and the 2 fingers scroll seems lagging and not usable to use.

After I upgraded to Boot Camp 1.1.2, my trackpad doesn't work after waking up from hibernating. (MacBook Pro)

I'm really dissappointed that you can't choose how you want the right click functionality to work as well. I liked the right apple key and click way better (especially since my wireless mighty mouse seems to lose its ability to right click all the #$% time!)

My trackpad is also acting really funny where I can't move the mouse cursor some times.

1.1.2 has been a HUGE DISSAPPOINTMENT!

about u cant move the cursor sometimes it can be fixed by going to intel gma properties option in control panel, go to power settings and untick the one about "power saver" or something like that. i forgot. ill check it out later.
