Okay, just tried the plugin that will "let" you use hotmail in Mail, however Hotmail no longer allows to be used with apps other than outlook.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Assuming you're talking about HTTPmail, I don't know why you'd have a problem using it with Mail. With HTTPmail, I send and receive my Hotmail flawlessy.
 
Unfortunately, HTTPMail doesn't work with all accounts. Hotmail (and Microsoft) are trying to cut back on usage via third party (non-Microsoft) email clients. Like so many of Microsoft's business strategies, nobody really knows why...
 
I think it depends on when your hotmail account was created wether HTTPmail will work or not, thats what I read somewhere ages ago.
 
it's clear Microsoft is starting to get scared by Apple. Gmail integrates flawlessly with Mail.app so if you can, switch to it. PM me (or any of the many MR members who use Gmail) for an invite, if you're interested.

i also read that if your account is relatively new (i don't recall the cut-off date), HTTPMail won't work.

I think you should emphasize that Gmail, unlike Hotmail, works flawlessly with any email app.
