Heres the deal. My mom is getting my G4 400MHz, and I am getting the G4 500Mhz. The G4 500 has 4 30GB hardrives in it. The G4 400 has one 80GB Drive in it.

I am going to keep the 80GB (its mine with my files), and I am getting one more 30GB Drive. My mom is getting one 30GB Drive. Another 30GB Drive is for backup, and the last one is for video projects.

So, I have 15GB of Movies, 5GB of Music, 8GB of .dmg and .sit files (lotta programs :D), 1.5GBs of Documents, and about 400MB of pictures.

Ok, so how should I set up these 2 drives. I want the 80GB to be my bootup drive because it is newer and faster. I am going to reformat both drives for OS X, but I just dont know what files to have on what and stuff. What do you guys think?

Cool

Ok, I might be able to yank 2 drives from my dad, but I have a question.

Does iTunes and stuff just 'know' where your files are? I mean, when you play MP3s from another drive.

Is there a lag time?

you just need to change the itunes directory to that hard drive in the preferences.

the only way i have a lag is if i turn the option "put the hard drive to sleep" in the energy saver pref pane

put ur movies and files onto the 30...sounds like a KDX server :p...and keep the music on the 80...u can change em over any time and all so its not a big deal anyway..
