built in microphone problem with macbook

I was wondering if there is an option for the built in microphone to not pick up the sounds of my loud laptop fan (which always seems to go crazy whenever I'm playing games).

Also is there a way to make the fan noise not so loud? Note that the problem actually got worse after apple replaced the fan due to the random shutdown problem plaguing a lot of macbooks.

try checking the ambient noise reduction box in the system preferences.

I have already but that doesn't seem to totally fix the problem.

Do I just have to deal with it?
