I have a mac with a built-in Texas Instrument TAS3001C sound card and a built-in PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104 cd-rom. I want to record audio from the cd-rom to cubase or any other sound editing software. I have tried to switch, in the sound panel of system preferences to make the cd-rom the audio source rather than the built-in mic, but there's not that option. How could I make the cd-rom the audio source in my computer? My computer is a 800MHz PowerPC G4 with OS X 10.4.8 operating system. I would be very grateful if someone could help me. Thanks.

you don't need to re-record it, you can just grab the digital file and import it into cubase. pop in your CD, open a finder window and look at the files. they'll be aiffs and cubase should be able to simply import them.
