just browsin around ebay it seems fisheye lenses are pretty generic . i have a rebel , anything i should avoid ? or are they just kinda dime a dozen .

I have a Nikon 10.5mm one and it's great. I would stay away from the Canon 15mm, I've been told it doesn't have nearly enough fishing (if that's what you want to call it)
The Sigma 8mm seems to be great if you have a 1.6/1.5 crop camera! Otherwise something like the Sigma 10-20mm or Tamron 12-24 would be good too.
If you are using a Nikon DSLR, the 10.5 fish-eye rocks IMO. Just search for some of the threads I posted here with sample images from this image.
