OK, obviously there shouldn't be any use of real profanity in this thread... so what's your favorite fictional profanity? The three that immediately come to mind for me are:

From the new Battlestar Galactica, we have the wonderful "frak" and its derivations (frakking, frakked up, etc.).
From Farscape, we have "frell" and its derivations (frelling, frelled up, etc.).
And from Firefly, the ever-popular "gorram".
What are your favorites? Vote above for one of these three or click Other and tell us what you think.

Smeg!Strictly speaking, "smeg" (from Red Dwarf, right?) is a contraction of a real word... but it's still a good one to throw out there. ;)

What's the uncontracted (tracted?) word?

I'm a bit of a Heinlein fan, so I'll have to go with "frimp" and "kark," as well as the classic portmanteau, "slitch."

After reading the dictionary entry, I'm now somewhat embarrassed :o

Don't be embarrassed. It's quite common.

however i love frack, frak or whateverThey do use Mandarin to say stuff you can't usually say, but Mal is known to throw a "gorram" out there at least once an episode.

Actually, they say that the Mandarin cursing in Firefly is incredibly intense. I probably would have voted for if the Mandarin if it were an option.

I have to go with the Cowboy on this one. Heinie got a bit out there at the end, but he remains my favorite SF author. It's a close race, but he still wins, and I like his "swear" words as well.

I don't have a fictional profanity that's a particular favourite, but when I looked at the poll and saw 'gorram' it made me think of schizophrenic shotstopper Andy Goram, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Goram) so I voted for that.

Frell is a nice all-purpose swear word... :)

I also like smeg head, as an insult, but using that on this boards would probably wake up the ban hamster, and that quickly gets messy... ;)
