Trying to keep my windows partition on my shiny c2D MBP to a minimum, and as the only thing I use win for is games, I'm thinking of making a minimal win partition of say 5 or 10gb, and running all my games off an external firewire drive.
I think in theory that the games should all run fine, apart from longer loading times I guess. Any thoughts on how much longer (ie. will it be say, twice as long to load?). Will the loading delay affect in-game performance (ie every time it tries to load a level), or will it only be for when loading the game at the very start?
Will there be any other issues with running the external drive? I guess battery life is sure to be shortened?
Any thoughts much appreciated!
