Nicaragua: Ortega Back in Power

Looks like the Sandinistas (http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americas/11/06/nicaragua.elections.ap/index.html) are back in the driver's seat with Daniel Ortega returning to power. It's another Left turn in Latin America.

The question is whether he'll follow a path of reform like Khaddafi did.

The question is whether he'll follow a path of reform like Khaddafi did.
Or, worse yet, give lip service to a feigned change of spots, as Khaddafi has done (http://www.nationalreview.com/comment/pacepa200312290001.asp) . Wasn't the bombing of Pan Am 103 after he'd said he was done with all terrorist operations? And it's still not certain the state of Libya's stockpile of chemical weapons and the extent of her cooperation with North Korea. I'm not too enthusiastic about trusting any of Khaddafi's promises.

Still, Ortega claims he's not the same person, politically, he was some 16 years ago. The truth will out.
