Okay, I'm trying to install Mac OS X Tiger on my external FireWire drive. When I try to install it, it says that I can't boot from the drive. The drive is partitioned, but that shouldn't matter, right? I tried reformatting it, and everything. No luck. I don't want to use USB because I heard it can get unstable if your booting from it. Thanks in advance.

What format are you using? :)

The standard Mac OS Extended (Journaled). That's the right format, right?
PS: Is it just me, or has Mad Jew replied to almost every single thread I have started?

That's bizarre. Even though that's the correct format, I'd try reformatting the partition to ensure something strange didn't happen in the format process earlier. :)

Repartition the drive, and when doing so, click the Options button and be sure to use GUID Partition Table.
