More Virtual Console Games Revealed
The ESRB lists eight more classics bound for Wii's download service.
by Matt Casamassina
November 7, 2006 - The Entertainment Software Ratings Board's official website has approved, rated and consequently listed eight more titles that will be showing up on a Wii Virtual Console near you in the not-too-distant future. The games are naturally all classics and from very recognizable franchises. In the interest in saving you time, we've listed the titles and their ratings below:

Duck Hunt (E for Everyone)
Hogan's Alley (E for Everyone)
Kid Icarus (E for Everyone)
Kirby's Adventure (E for Everyone)
Pilot Wings (E for Everyone)
Pro Wrestling (E for Everyone)
Punch-Out (E for Everyone)
Wild Gunman (E for Everyone)

Nintendo itself has not officially announced these games for the Wii's Virtual Console, but the ESRB is a reliable source because the Big N has to submit its games to the Board for approval in advance. In other words, the ESRB got this list from Nintendo of America.

NOA executives continue to state that approximately 30 Virtual Console games will be available between the Wii's launch in November and the end of December. Another 10 titles will be released every month beginning in January.

I want Gumshoe! I want Gumshoe!!!
Gumshoe was my favorite Zapper game. Looks like they added all the other Zapper titles...now gimme my Gumshoe! :D

I don't see a "Mike Tyson's" in front of Punch Out, so I'm assuming it's the rerelease with Mr. Dream (or whatever his name was), the "white palette swap just-as-cheap as Tyson" guy.

Kid Icarus - awesome.
Pilot Wings will be awesome if you can use the Wiimote (doubtful).
Pro Wrestling - can't wait to start bitin' heads with the Amazon guy again. :)

edit - I just noticed Sky Blue posted this in the FAQ an hour ago. Ah well ;)

Kid Icarus is one of my favorite games of all time. I'm glad that is being released. Pro Wrestling was great (Amazon and Starman were both fun to use). I'm disappointed that it will not be Mike Tyson's Punch Out (that removes some of the nostalgia of playing it).
I too would love Gumshoe (possibly the best zapper game ever).

I'm assuming Duck Hunt will utilize the WiiMote with it's point and shoot function

Man that will be great!

Kirby's Adventure was a GREAT game. I still own the original cartridge.

Unfortunately, I no longer own a working NES.

If I buy an american wii as i plan, I assume i'll have no problems downloading the us content... or I wonder if like microsoft they will require a credit card registered at a US address.

Here is your answer:

We are already aware that you won't be able to gain access to the Japanese or American VC in UK with a UK console. But if you import a US or Japanese Wii into UK, will that machine be capable of accessing the UK VC servers to download and play games made available to us Brits?

Nintendo: No. The European Virtual Console will be available only to European machines. If you import an American machine they would have to connect to the American service and use American Wii Points cards to buy content. Their warranty would also be void so this is not recommended.

Here is your answer:

So basically you can, but they put out the old nutshell it ruins your warranty. mmm

Nintendo really hate european importers dont they.

If you import an American machine they would have to connect to the American service and use American Wii Points cards to buy content. Their warranty would also be void so this is not recommended.

Either way the it looks like I will be able to connect the wii to the internet but will need American Wii points. Hopefully these are able to buy at retail stores like marketplace points and therefore I'd at least be able to get them off ebay..

I dont care about warranty crap.

In fact I wonder if the PAL virtual console games will be the same as the SNES/NES/N64, that is they suffer the big black borders top and bottom and 17.5% slower than the NTSC version. If so more reason to get American.

I think importing a console from another reason is very risky. You never know if they will block by IP or only let you buy points from a US card, as you say. Best to let someone else try first.

Nice game list. They are only doing 10 a month though,or is it 10 minimum with Sega and Hudson, it could be a while till we see all those.

I want to know if SE are going to bring the NES/SNES FF games to VC.

What was that Kirby golf game called? Kirby's Dream Course? That was awesome :)

since the VC was announced I've been pining for Super Metroid. I really can't wait for these. The only thing that's really pulling me in is Wii Play and TP for launch titles, I'll probably quadruple that with VC titles :D

Duck Hunt, Super Mario 64, Mario Bros, Mario Kart 64, and Starfox 64....and that's just at launch...I guess my Wii income went from $400 to $450 :(

Now only if they got Chrono Trigger on board....
