It's an automated ad system, MR doesn't choose what it shows.
And the ad system sees "Windows" plenty of times in MR, so it figures selling Windows is a good idea.

No mysterious or nefarious purposes here.

adds for office and windows have been here for a long time. who cares, it pays the bills right?

its not like Arn or anyone handpicks all the ads to run on the site.
