Hi, i donated my powerbook to my folks to use (to replace their aging emac) and was wondering is it better, as being used as a desktop, to run on power supply without the battery inserted, and if so, should i store the battery empty? thanks

Leave the battery in. As long as it's not charging/discharging (e.g. they're leaving the power wire in), there will be no negative effects. On the other hand, if you leave the battery permanently out you're going to get dust in the chassis.

it's lithium so if you have to store it, you should store it charged at 40 or 50% at least, do not store it empty or it will deplete much faster :D
