I have recentlyi and proudly swithced to Mac this spring and was wondering if there is an equivalent key to the delete key in Windows, i.e. one the deletes forward rather than back. Is there a keyboard shortcut for this, or do you have to shift forward arrow then delete?

I don't know how or why I am so attached to this action in my wintel PC, but I am. Any advice?

I usually use the forward delete key on the extended keyboards for that. It's in the same place as it is on the PC keyboards.

It's not available in all applications, but you might be surprised how often it works.

If you have a desktop system, the key you are looking for should be just to the right of the \ key, under the help key.

If you have a laptop, use the Fn-delete key combination.

(edited for incorrect desktop key location)

Thanks, I'l give it a try

It works great (FN+Delete) Thanks. I guess I shoud have mentioned the fact that i am working on a PB.

Thanks again,

Glad I could help.

I wish they would identify that key combination on the keyboard somehow. I also didn't know about it until someone on this site mentioned it.
