The application details can be found here (http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=h5v3n3.3.4) at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The application was filed on April 7, 2003.

It looks like a wireless, or possibly portable device, logo. It's an odd image, though.

kinda looks like something wireless it reminds me of airport. or the network symbol.....it might have something to do with rendezvous connected devices/other computers.

Hmmm...what could it be?

"User at the center"
"online music service"

hmmm...

it seems like this would be the symbol for something on the new "communication device" we have been hearing so much about, but what does that mean for input on already existing devices? could it be a symbol for something that will plug into already exstant ports, or will there be a converter of some sort?

also possible, this will have something to do with the new music service we should be seenig in just under a week.

the date on the application is a few weeks old, so there is no reason this will not be seen on something to be released very soon. just my thoughts...

Crop circles? I knew it - Steve is a Martian! He uses that Reality Distortion Field on us to keep us from seeing his green skin!

It's for the new audio units (http://www.apple.com/finalcutpro/soundtrack.html) think that FCP 4's Soundtrack apparently takes advantage of.

Very interesting. My first thought was a logo for the music service, but if these communication device rumors prove to be true I can see how it could be a logo for it.

hmmm....very interesting indeed...[whispers to himself, "Steve....what are you up to?....]

Looks like the answer was posted before my response was. Ah! Foiled again!

It looks like part of the old CBC logo. It's been around for 60 years in Canada.

Wow, this just looks like a place where people didn't bother reading other people's posts and yet wanted to add their 2 cents. Read first, THEN add the sarcastic remarks. ;)

I was hoping someone would mention the CBC, it really is close. Long live quality public broadcasting!

I'm stealing you're quote for future use, that happens on here far too often :D

In a badly imitated Rolf Harris Voice : “Can you tell what it is yet ?”

I know that this is a logo for Mac OS X’s Audio Units plug-in architecture, but it still vaguely reminds me of the napster logo.

so uhh...... is it my turn to say it looks like the new logo for OS X's audio units? After me, i think maybe ten more people should say the exact same thing, so that this quickly expiring thread can have purpose once again. People really need to read all the previous posts before chiming in; this thread is just a ridiculous example of what happens all to often.

hey spike, in case your reply applied to me-- I did read the *entire* thread, but responded to the lead item.. I simply wanted to say that it vaguely reminded me of the napster logo. Take a chill pill, put on your favorite MP3 and don't be so assuming!

:)

Perhaps the new logo for Apple applied patent that alows for clearer voice recognition.

The symbol is more like something being recieved, instead of emmited.

Yeah, ditto. I knew what it was prior to my post, but I just wanted to say that it still looked like a crop circle. :)
