Comment: Angelic song about a serial killer... makes you feel sorry for him. Sufjan is a gifted man.

Great song, fantastic album. One of my favorites from 2005.

I spent a good 2 to 3 months obsessing over this album.

In retrospect, I wonder if I obsessed over it because it's so ****ing beautiful or because everyone told me it was so ****ing beautiful.

In the end, it's all some sort of numbed heartbreak. I mean, where's the limit of empathy. You can empathize until your own ends and, let's face it, it's not going to be enough.

Forgive my cynicism. It really is a good album, and it's a touchingly idealistic song. But what good does it do, in the face of it all? When someone's out there, right now, pacing the building of their own disappointment, and there's really nothing you can do about it?

Sometimes "I really need to talk to someone" is about nothing more than the hat they left behind.

I don't think you're being swayed...I have been listening to it for about a week a now on the reccommendation from a friend who just said "you should listen to this". Although confusing at first, now I'm seeing the truth of it.

When I play it to people for the first time, I love to gauge the reaction when I tell 'em who it's about.
Great track.

"And in my best behavior
I am really just like him
Look beneath the floorboards
for the secrets I have hid."

That gives me goosebumps every time. I live in the town that Gacy did when he managed a KFC, got married etc., and it freaks me out to no end that there might be secrets of his here still, unfound.

I too obsessed over this album for too long. It's so freaking beautiful and amazing.

Tremendous album and a great song. If you don't own this album you are missing a classic.

Absolutely beautiful song. Disgustingly tragic story.

Thank you, Sufjan...

Beautiful album. While this is one of my less-liked songs off the album, every song from the album is great so it doesn't really matter :)
