Dell 2407WFP Card Reader Ports

How do I get the card reader ports on my Dell 24" LCD to work? :confused: I popped in a CF card but nothing automatically pops up onto my mac's desktop. I'm so used to just plugging things in and automatically working -- like no need to worry about drivers and whatnot.

I swear I did but I checked the port and made sure the cable was in there, gave it a little hard push and then the ports started working. Whoops. :o
